Lcoalhost is a real, standalone dev-humor site: a live feed of dev, tech and AI memes, videos and articles (95% laughs, 5% survival). It is published by TabascoCity SASU, a French company, and lives at two interchangeable addresses, lcoal.host (canonical) and lcoalhost.lol.

I typed localhost and landed here. Is this dangerous?

No. Lcoalhost is a deliberate play on the extremely common localhost typo, so a mistyped dev-server address can bring you here by accident. This is not your machine and not your dev server, there is nothing to log into, and nothing sensitive is collected. Common misspellings that lead here include locahost, localhos, loaclhost, localhsot, localost, local host, and address-bar slips like localhost;3000 or localhost 3000.

Where does the name lcoalhost come from?

It is localhost with the o and c swapped: l-o-c-a-l becomes l-c-o-a-l, which reads lcoalhost. The extra coal fits the dev-humor theme (95% laughs, 5% survival).

Who runs lcoalhost and is it official?

It is built and run by TabascoCity SASU, a French company. It is a genuine project, not a parody of or phishing attempt against localhost, and it has no affiliation with any dev tool or framework named localhost.
